Grades 2-4

LEGO® Robotics is our core class, where beginners learn to build and program robots using LEGO® Education’s award-winning WeDo robotics and programming software.

Students follow step-by-step on-screen instructions to build their robots, and then build a suggested program to get their robots working. After that, those who are ready build more complicated programs involving motion or tilt sensors, or improvise to make their robots achieve certain tasks.

Towards the end of the session, we encourage some of the more advanced students in this class to skip the group activity and instead take our challenge to use what they’ve learned so far to design their own programmable car that The Great Adventure Lab teaches boys and girls to build, design and program robots and other creations!that can move without being touched. Even our biggest LEGO® robotics buffs find this extremely challenging, but we work with them to help them succeed.
